Hi, I'm Gareth
I founded Walk and Wag in 2019 — but the story really begins with my dad.
My father was a dog handler in his early Police career. He had a natural gift for connecting with dogs — a patience, warmth, and understanding that you can't teach. He truly loved animals, and that love shaped everything I know about caring for pets.
I started Walk and Wag in memory of my dad, to carry on that same spirit of compassionate, dedicated animal care. Every walk, every visit, and every overnight stay is done with the same heart he brought to his work.
Based in Heron Cross, Stoke-on-Trent, I'm proud to serve our local community and treat every pet I meet as if they were my own.

Giving Back to the Community
I grew up in Clayton and went to the local schools, so this community means everything to me. One of the ways I give back is through my long-standing involvement with Redgate Clayton FC.
I've been supporting the first team since I was a young teenager, and today I'm proud to serve as Assistant Coach to the Under 9s, a member of the committee, and a sponsor of their strip. We also have an advertising board at the ground. Football has always been a huge part of my life, and being able to help the club thrive is incredibly rewarding.
Whether it's on the pitch or walking your dog around the neighbourhood, you'll likely spot me doing what I love — supporting the people and animals of Clayton.
